I have been home {in New Hampshire} for the past week because Ben is on his spring break from college in Maine. If I haven't mentioned it before, we live in a tiny loft apartment there, so it's nice to be home and hang out with my Mom for a bit. We head back next weekend.
Since being home, I have decided to take this time to do some different activities besides weight lifting. I think I was burnt out a bit as I could feel my body aching and just felt pretty tired.
So I am listening to my body and taking these two weeks to relax.
I also began yoga, finally! I have been wanting to start for a while now, but the classes at my YMCA just didn't line up with my schedule, and being home has given me the opportunity to check out some online videos.
I am loving it so far. It really has helped open up my body and has helped to heal my joints and muscles. I like it so much in fact, that I am thinking about changing my workout routine to add in more yoga days. I think this will be helpful for both muscle soreness and my mental state.
It's great to be walking again, as up where we live in Maine, there are not many nice places to walk. Walking has always been a form of meditation for me, so I've been enjoying that.
Ben has been working for his Dad over break, but we enjoyed a beautiful weekend together. Fortunately for us, the weather was gorgeous, 50 degrees and sunny which is a nice break from the cold snowy weather we have been getting.
Afterwards we were so tired from the adventure that we treated ourselves to some amazing pizza at Flatbreads. I was so hungry I ate half of a whole pizza, Ben was proud!
And since Ben and I are getting married in the Summer of 2014, we have {or I should say, I have} started planning out some things. We've agreed on the ceremony site and venue and most of the guest list so far. I get more excited about the decorations and other details than Ben does obviously, so I'm already thinking about those even though we still have over a year until the day!
But starting early has never hurt anyone!
I'm hoping it's another nice weekend coming up so that Ben and I can take another hike. I've missed hiking so much. In the summer we usually go every weekend and this year we have a goal of hiking all of the 4,000 footers throughout NH and Maine.
Anyways, I enjoyed catching up! What have all of you been up to? What did you do this past weekend? What are your plans for this coming weekend?
Share with me.!
xoxo
